- Who owns the account?

The account is owned by the beneficiary, regardless of whether they opened the account or it’s managed by an Authorized Legal Representative. The funds in the account belong to the beneficiary.
- Can there be more than one Authorized Legal Representative?

There can only be one Authorized Legal Representative per account, but you can change an ALR by filling out a Change of Authorized Legal Representative Form.

To keep the account safe, don’t share your password or let someone else have access to your account, unless they are the Authorized Legal Representative. If you want to add, change, or remove the Authorized Legal Representative for the account, we have forms to help you with the process:

- Do I have to file separate taxes for each ABLE account?

If you’re an Authorized Legal Representative of more than one beneficiary, keep in mind that each beneficiary’s ABLE account is treated separately and will receive separate tax documents. Please consult your tax advisor for information about whether you need to file taxes for an ABLE account.
- Can I use the same login information if I have multiple ABLE accounts?

Yes. If you’re an Authorized Legal Representative of more than one beneficiary (or yourself and a beneficiary), you will have one username (email) and password to log in to all the ABLE accounts you manage.
